Appventures is an on-demand adventure experience that uses GPS to guide users around the real world where they’ll explore new places, discover challenging puzzles, and use nearby clues to solve them.
The app is currently live on the App Store, although I haven’t had much time to work on it the last two years between the 8-5, freelance work, and my family. However, I am wrapping up my two week notice with my current employer to pursue Appventures full-time.
I have several new initiatives nearing completion and I need a marketing partner to help me catch this thing on fire!
I will be applying to several accelerators within the next few weeks, hoping to secure funding and mentorship ASAP. In the mean-time, I will continue to bootstrap Appventures until it is generating a sustainable income and fully investable.
My name is Erik Wetterskog. I am 36 years old, live in Dallas, TX, been married for three years, and have a two year old daughter. I've been freelancing mobile app and web development since August 2011. I love business / startup ideas, thinking creatively, fun / adventure, music, soccer, and living life to the fullest!
I work hard and play hard. I love thinking through ideas, but I love executing them even more. I know Appventures has the potential to be something amazing, and am fully committed to making it so!
I'm looking for an experienced, successful marketer willing to go all-in on Appventures. Your primary responsibilities would be:
- running, testing, and optimizing social and other forms of paid ads
- brainstorming guerilla marketing and other out-of-the-box customer acquisition methods
- optimizing conversions through every stage of all of our various sales funnels
- pitching businesses (restaurants, shops, etc.) to sponsor Appventures and pay for Appventures at their business
- brainstorming Appventure locations, features, puzzles, etc. and the future of Appventures
Above all, I'm looking for somebody who loves fun and adventure, and possesses extreme integrity! We will always do the right thing; we will never cut corners; and we will always treat each other, our team, and our customers (players and businesses) with kindness and respect!
Ideally, you’re located in Texas (preferably DFW), but I’m open to anybody in the lower 48. Pre-funding, I’d prefer if you could work on Appventures 10-20+ hours a week, but that’s flexible as I understand we’ve both gotta pay our bills. Once we’ve received funding, I’d expect us both to take a salary and work on Appventures full-time.
We will be remarkable. We're going to have an absolute blast feeding off of each other's creative energy and growing Appventures into a world-wide brand renown for creating fun and adventure for all.
